Good afternoon folks and welcome to another Circuit Monday todays circuit is the water alarm

Components needed

1.        1k resistor
2.       100k resistor
3.       555 timer
4.       2.2nf capacitor
5.       buzzer
6.       jumper wires

Uses for this circuit

this circuit can be used to let you know when water reaches a certain level e.g in a bath and many other uses.

Step one

place the 555 onto the board.

Step two

Connect pin 2 and pin 6 together with a jumper wire.

Step three

Connect the capacitors negative pin to pin 1 and the positive pin to pin 2

Step four

connect pin 6 and 7 together using the 100k resistor (sorry forgot to take a picture of this ) then connect pin 7 and an unused row with the 1k resistor then connect a jumper wire to the end of the resistor.

Step five

Connect pin 3 to the - side of the buzzer and then connect the + side to the positive rail .

Step six

Connect pin 8  to the positive rail then connect another jumper wire the positive rail.

Step seven

connect a wire from pin 1 to the negative rail.
the circuit is competed I use a small lid to test it as you can see from the video below I had to change the to probe wires to longer ones they are now yellow instead of red.
