Circuit Monday #14 Latching switch

Good afternoon folks and welcome to another Circuit Monday todays circuit is A latching switch

Components needed

1 LED
1555 TIMER
1PUSH BUTTON SWITCH
1CAPACTIOR
4 RESISTORS

all my Circuits are breadboarded on the prototype board I made here

Uses for this circuit

you can use this circuit for turning on and off power to all sorts of things

Step one

place the switch and the 555 timer on the board

Step two

connect pin 2 to pin 6 then connect pin 8 and 4

Step three

connect pin 8 to pin 6 with a 10k resistor

Step four

connect pin 1 to pin 6 with a 10k resistor

Step five

connect the capacitors negative lead to pin 1 of the 555 timer

Step six

connect pin 3 to the positive lead of the capacitor with a 100k resistor

Step seven

connect one pin of the switch to the same row as the positive lead of the capacitor

Step eight

connect pin 2 of the 555 a different pin on the switch

Step Nine

connect the anode of the led to pin 3 of the 555 timer then connect the cathode to a resistor  that is then connected to the negative rail of the board

Step Ten

connect pin 1 to the negative rail and pin 8 to the positive rail of the board now your circuit ready to test

Circuit Monday #4 555 flashing led

Welcome to Circuit Monday this weeks   circuit is a using a led to make an led flash .
this was built on the prototyping board that I made in yesterdays Project Day #3

Parts needed

1 X 555timer
1x capacitor
1X resistor
1Xled

Step 1

place 555timer on the board

Step 2

connect pin 2 of the 555 to pin 6 with a jumper wire

Step 3

connect pin one to - rail of the board

Step 4

Connect pin 4 to the + rail o

Step 5

connect pin 8 to  the + rail

Step 6

connect pin 6 and pin 7 with a jumper and

Step 7

connect the resistor to pin 7 and the + rail

Step 8

connect the capacitor to pin1 and pin2 making sure the negative side is in pin 1

Step 9

connect a jumper wire to pin 3 and a empty row on the board

Step 10

connect the cathode of the led to the same row as the jumper wire coming from pin 3

Step 11

connect the anode side of the led to the + rail  and power the circuit
the led will flash every few moments depending on the values of the capacitor and resistor

Fritzing layouts

here is the layout I made on Fritzing which is really useful software if you haven't checked it out I suggest you take a look.

thanks for reading see you tomorrow for Training Tuesday
